学制：2年

培养目标：

1、在新闻传播领域掌握坚实宽厚的基础理论和系统深入的专业知识，具有独立从事新闻传播研究工作的能力，立足国际新闻传播传统、追踪国际新闻传播前沿，在新媒体理论研究上取得创新性成果。

2、至少熟练掌握一门外国语。第—外国浯要求能够熟练阅读本专业外文资料，并具有—定的写作能力；第二外国语要求有阅读本专业外文资料的初步能力。

入学要求：

1、新TOEFL成绩不低于70分，或IELTS成绩不低于5.5，或有英语为大学学习期间工作语言的相关证明。

2、具有本科毕业以上的学历，此前所学专业是新闻与传播、文史类或哲学类。

3、提供本科毕业证书公证件和本科阶段全部课程成绩单或公证件。中英文以外文本的证书还需提供公证过的中文或英文翻译件。

4、提供来华学习和研究的计划（不少于1500字），用中文或英文书写。

5、提供两名副教授或相当于副教授专业技术职称或以上者的推荐信。

培养要求：

1、课程要求：本专业硕士研究生课程原则上应在三个学期内结束。硕士研究生必须修满25学分。其中学位课程为13~15学分，必修环节为4学分，选修课为8~9学分。本专业共设置30门课程，其中公共课4门，基础理论课2门，专业课2门，选修课16门，补修课6门。根据留学生的实际需要，强化汉语教育，可适当增加汉语选修课程。

 2、论文要求：

（1）学位论文工作的时间安排是，第二学期末至第三学期中根据具体情况进行开题报告。从开题报告通过到论文完成，时间大约为一年。

（2）学位论文选题应有学术意义，应该选择本专业研究方向中的前沿性课题或对国内外新闻事业和社会发展有价值的课题，并注意选题的创新性、应用性和先进性，要对选题的相关资料、业务实践有全面的了解和深入的研究，从而提出自己的系统学术见解，做到言之有据，论之有理。

（3）开题报告与论文格式应严格遵循《河北大学研究生学位论文开题报告的要求》和《河北大学学位论文撰写规范》。

（4）根据《河北大学关于研究生在攻读学位期间发表学术论文的规定》，本专业研究生必须至少有一篇学术性文章在省级以上报刊发表，作为获得硕士学位的必备条件。

The Introduction of International Program of Master of Journalism and Communication

Name of specialty: Journalism and Communication

Credit system: 2 years

Cultivation objective: 

1. Grasp sound and basic knowledge and deep and systematical specialized knowledge in Journalism & Communication discipline. Gain the ability to make research independently in the field of Journalism and Communication. Based on national journalism and communication traditions and tracking the forefront of international journalism & communication, make innovative achievements on New Media studies.

2. Master at least one foreign language. It’s required you can read foreign materials of the discipline proficiently, and can write papers with the first foreign language. It’s required you can possess the preliminary ability to read foreign materials of the discipline with the second foreign language.

3. Physically and mentally healthy.

Enrollment requirements:

1. The TOEFL iBT score of 70 points at least, or IELTS score at least 5.5, or the relevant certificates of English as the working and learning language for university study.
2. Possess bachelor degree above, and previous major should be related to Journalism and communication, literature and philosophy.
3. ??Provide undergraduate diploma notarized copies and the score report’s transcripts or notarized copies of undergraduate courses. When the diploma is neither Chinese nor English, you should provide notarized Chinese or English translated document.
4. Provide research and study plan in China (1500 words at least), written in Chinese or English.
5. Provide recommendation letters by two professionals with the title of professors or associate professors.

Cultivation Requirements

1. Curriculum Requirements: 

The Master course consists of three semesters. The Mater course requires 25 total credits，including degree program 13~15 credits, compulsory courses 4 credits, optional courses 8~9 credits. There are 30 courses in this major, including 4 public courses, 2 basic theoretical courses, 2 specialized classes, 16 optional classes, and 6 supplementary courses. According to overseas students’ needs, in order to intensify Chinese education, it is proper to have more Chinese optional courses. 

2. Paper Requirements: 

2.1 Opening report of the graduate paper will be carried out at the end of the second semester or in the middle of the third semester. It will take nearly a year to finish the final paper. 

2.2 The subject of paper should have some academic significance. Students should try to select pioneering project or valuable ones which contribute to the development of journalism and communication. What’s more, students should be aware of creativity, practicability and progressiveness, which are essential elements for selecting a subject. It is more appreciated if the topic of the paper is related to New Media.

2.3 The format of opening report and dissertation should follow The Requirements of Opening Report for Postgraduates’ Scientific Dissertation in Hebei University and The Format of Scientific Dissertation in Hebei University.

2.4 According to Rules of Postgraduates’ Publishing Scientific Dissertations in Hebei University, all the students should publish at least one Scientific Dissertation in journals, which will be the indispensable element for getting the master’s degree.
